It is 18th July 2011 today. I was really happy and relieved when i found the lost battery charger. I was quite disappointed because i couldn't export any pictures from the camera. And to make matters worse, i had been abandoning few things which includes this blog for the past two months.
Well, good news is today is hubby's birthday and i will be hosting a birthday celebration for him. Yep home-cooking for the big family. Hey even godfathers love cooking! hahah

Shift Happens..
It is only natural that we tend to learn to adapt to new demands and environment. I am now a junior cook in the making! LOL how is that possible for a 35 year old who's supposed to be able to cook because one is married? haha.. I guess one has to realise that talents can come at a later age. But anyway, i have cooked several dishes now and had invited families and friends to savour on my humble recipes. I never knew that cooking is a fun thing to do! That doesn't mean that i am shifting my focus from other worldly ambitions though. It is more of taking breath of fresh air, in between the oohs and aahs of that climb, do not forget to take time to learn new things and one will be surprised of ones ability and talents if nurtured properly. That i believe in that saying - Learning is a lifelong process.
Aside from cooking, i am also learning to let go of certain things in the past that has been haunting my life ever since i am 19! The realization and enlightenment of such process came in light of new discoveries and upon finally understanding the fact that we are all gifted to be granted that one gem - The Art of Gratitude. Being grateful is the key! .. and to that i say Alhamdulillah.

That hunger ..
It is not surprising that March has rather been a hectic month. Work and play intertwined but business and pleasure doesn't belong on the same department for me. I have also learned that vanity can be costly at times. I also need to travel and take some time off again just to get away from the demanding and boring routine. I want new opportunities and challenges.
Call me funny but i do enjoy attending written test sometimes, because it provides me some kind of challenge and the fact that i get to be called for interviews tells me that i had excelled in most of the written test that i have attended. But perhaps i screwed the interview! haha You can't be too smart when answering some conservative senior officials. The system requires you to just be precise. Simple as that. And ..well, Vanity is not good. That i must remember hehe.. Ah well, on the meantime..

Between Balinese massage and Singapore's Mee Rebus
Feeling relaxed and pampered, I think Bali is one destination that i really like when compared to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. The people are nice, with good food, mystical aura, awesome scenery and affordable accommodation for those on budget, it is no wonder that this place being hailed as one of a world tourist destination.
I got my hair braided at Kuta while Number 12 got tattooed hehe..

When i say i do..
My 1st December Birthday this year was celebrated ala grande, and i owe it all to my other half for organising such an auspicious event. I could never find anyone better than you, Number 12
There were celebrated in two occasions. The special guests on the first birthday party comprised of 'hot' peoples in the 30's (my beloved close friends) while the second event was with mum, dad and my siblings.
I really value their presence on both parties which my husband has hosted and i love the presents too.
Thank you very much..

Sweet November
1st November and 6th November was both Dad's and Mom's Birthday. The family gathered at parents' residence as usual but i had to make it early due to work obligation. Turned up at 7pm, i only spend an hour and i was the earliest to come to hand over my presents to the 2 people that brought me into this world.
Bewitching Curve and Black Cherry ordered unique birthday cakes for them. Too bad i wasn't there to share my part..

Hari Raya 'Hari Mulia'
It is not too late to wish everyone a happy hari raya. As usual hari raya is a day to celebrate after Ramadhan. However my raya this year was not as expected because i had to celebrate Raya Eve without my other half. He had to fly to Mokpo, Korea a few days before Hari Raya.
Aside from the usual festive cakes, fizzy drinks and 'open houses' invitation, i can say that i was lacking interest in celebrating the glorious day. After going to parents' home on the first day, it took me 3 weeks after 1 Syawal to finally enjoy Raya visits when my Number 12 finally returned from abroad.
Infact first week after Raya, i opted to go for a getaway in our home soil and make myself busy with the activities the resort is offering.
But it was a sad view from the balcony..

It's that time of the year
Ramadhan 1431 is here and today is the 6th day of the fasting month. Alhamdulillah I am still here to fast and feeling relieved as i was actually looking forward for this holy month. The excitement for the coming of Ramadhan had been in my mind two weeks before it starts.
The month has this special scent in the air. That feeling of togetherness in devoting our obligations to the All Mighty and it further strengthen family ties - a time to be together for each other. As we are also encouraged to give to the needy and the poor, the month is a time to reflect on self where religious discipline reminds us that we are who we are and it serves the purpose of living in this world.
To me, it is also a time to remember our dearly departed and our role as the generation that appreciates life and what it has to offer.
From me to you - Ramadhan Kareem

Think tank the tanks
This photo of was taken by yours truly on my visit to Yosemite National Park in California, January this year.
June is mellowing down on me as i was beginning to adapt to my second job. At first it created a lot of think tank , to collectively bring myself on the reality - how to squeeze the ever-hectic schedule?
Some call it madness but i think it was more to being able to survive the challenges. I had to change my Tasek routine from morning to the afternoon. Which means that i need to rush from work and change by 4.45pm in order to complete the routine by 6pm. I have an hour rest for dinner before having to rush to Gadong for second job.
Usually ends at 2am i have about five hours sleep before waking up to a morning job.
I am beginning to adapt to this schedule each day towards July where the epitome of buzziness (to others) reached its limit - in which i was able to avoid! Hah!
I was being frank on not allowing myself to get involve with that yearly project. To be able to tell someone right on his/her face that you don't want to jump into some kind of yearly project that won't be of any benefit to you.
Call me an opportunist but..
Thanks to being bold and being Dewy....

All Smiles when Lea's Shackled
Haji Japar made a superb job presenting on behalf of the family and so as Hj Bakir on behalf of the visitor. I actually love witnessing their dialogue especially when Haji Japar uses interesting terms like 'Bunga', 'garan' really shows his wittiness and wisdom as an 'orang tua-tua' .. full of symbolic and metaphoric meaning, which made me and others smile throughout the event.
Cracked jokes and warmth promises closer prospects umm.. probably this December. Right Dahlia? hehe

Forward..
I have been attending few tests nowadays because i feel that the time is ripe to move forward and grab the opportunities where ever it lies. Opportunities are everywhere.
A few days ago, a friend of mine questioned my motive for attending those test, as if i am not 'bersyukur' and greedy. But then again his opinions are his to keep and i am not affected at all by his words.
Alhamdulillah, because i am forever grateful for what God has given me. Infact, correct me if i am wrong but religion also told us that learning is a lifelong process and improving our way of life is much encouraged.
I think it is up to oneself to make these important decision, and all i'm doing is nonetheless for my future, my family and the people close to me.

Perspective on Prospects
This photo, i took while i was in San Francisco in front of The Pink Lady (the pink house). The bus stopped just infront the house and i love these tulips.
I can say that i am a bit happy with the current situation I am in. I have lost some weight but i believe i need to lose a bit more. Working is one of my favorite routine (although tiring at times) but because by doing so, i am able to maintain (if not ease) some financial obligations and save more for more travel plans. After Los Angeles, i am beginning to love the idea of traveling to places i've never been before. To live life to the fullest with my loved ones before i can venture into more important life cycle. Life cycle? ...

Syahmi turns 5!
I need much catching up to do to 'revive' this near dead blog hehe.
But how could i not include my favourite nephews' 5th Birthday Celebration. Yes, its Syahmi - my cute cuddly nephew that i dearly love.
He's bright a kid, full of surprises and laughs a lot. I like a kid who laughs a lot cause they cheer me up. So what happen is that, his Mum and Dad invite us over our parent's residence to grace his 5th Birthday occasion.
All members of immediate family was present but i couldn't shoot all their photos, camera's acting up.
then its Food Fest, as usual but the now slimmer bestfriend decides to eat less.. so sayang hehe
I was searching for photos of Syahmi's Mom and Dad but realize that i have used up camera's memory. Well, congratulations anyway to Susy and Sofian for raising this cute kid.

The Tough Get Going..
March is about to end and i've realized that the blog is growing cobweb again. Been much preoccupied with small matters that needs attention.
However, i will be updating Being Dewy today which will feature some activities on Dzikir Maulud at parent's residence, Syahmi's Birthday party and on my sudden decision to leave my other job.
Dzikir Maulud at parents residence was held on 26th February 2010. My mom wishes to organize in moderation because as one of the members of Muslimah Mulaut, its her turn to invite other members for Dzikir Maulud which also happens to fall on Maulud Nabi day itself.

Power of Expression
People are accustomed to being nice to others although treatment from the other party is not mutual. But how do we know if we have done the right thing in everything? Is being nice a key to every step we take? Because sometimes we need to speak out rather than concealing the truth although speaking out may also lead to misunderstanding and harshness.
It has come to my understanding that some people don't like to speak out as end results depends on the person you are trying to rely the information to. These people may not take your views positively. Whilst some prefer to keep quiet, i opt to speak out and be honest (if i may describe it that way).
Being honest too has its consequences. A lot actually. But to me, being honest is a key to trust and respect, among other qualities one should reckon with.
These are end results of that power of expression...

Izyan's Birthday Bash
She celebrated her birthday on Sunday 8th February 2010 in one restaurant located in Jerudong. As the event started at 5pm, i came half an hour late due to some unforseen circumstances.
Photo shows birthday girl mingles away happily.
Hubby could not make it that afternoon, so it was only me and Bijul. I bought Izyan a Gucci Bag and a pair of elegant slippers for the Cinderella of the day.
Warm ambience and tasty Thai food. A good day for the whole family.
Capturing the moment - Adek and Dad's delightful faces on seeing the cake

January Blues
I've never had the chance to say "Happy New Year 2010" to many people. I know this is late, 29th January 2010 already hehe.. way to go with blogging huh..
A lot of people had been hardly hit by new regulations concerning Credit Card in the country. I symphatise with this whole situation. I felt lucky that i am not affected by this bold move as i have resort to closing down all my 3 credit cards a year before the new regulation was introduced. Nevertheless, i am affected with the woes and hardship that some friends/ colleagues/ families had voiced out to me and i can only lend an open ear - i wish i could help ease their pain.
I have learn to live without credit card since a year ago and believe me, it needs great discipline to do so. One of my close family was even surprised that i had spend my time in Los Angeles and San Francisco without even bringing a single CC along. It was all cash... Alhamdulillah
Hence one of my new year resolution is to help my self and help friends/families in any way i could. May Allah gives me the strength to do so. Amin~~
Well there goes my January post. Till next time...

My New Moon
It is that time of the year again and its my new moon.
Last year, the moon smiled down on my special night - smiling moon of 1st December 2008 on my birthday and can be seen across this region. This year my birthday celebration was a bit different because instead of dinner at my parents, i opted to escape to Mangrove Resort but it was such a mad rush. Imagine going off to another office at 5 and finishes at 7 just to rush off to cash a personal check at one bank outlets in Beribi. The long queue got me really pissed. By the time i was at the counter, it was already 7.50pm and i hadn't change yet.
Arriving at Mangrove at 8.20pm, my mood changed and there was smile written all over my face. Seeing members of family gathered around for birthday dinner was an overwhelming sensation. Thank you for family and friends for the birthday gifts..
Everybody was busy trying to catch Twilight's New Moon on local cinema but i was watching My New Moon passing just before my very eyes. Alhamdulillah

Mom and Dad Birthday Celebration 2009
November is the month for my mom and dad. Dad was born on 1st November and Mom on 6th November. My siblings cooked up a plan for a surprise birthday celebration at the family's favourite dinner spot, OGH.
The funny part was when Nadyea brought out their cakes. Dad was presented with a Liverpool Cake when infact he is a Manchester United Fan! Seems that everyone got confused with that information haha But i figured both Mom and Dad loves the whole idea of family members gathering together that night.
I think mom and dad will continue to live prosperous and happy in their golden age for many years to come.
Mom help dad blew his birthday candle
My other half with Adek (my niece) on his lap
